Barnsley ’til I Die Prediction League; Prove your knowledge

—————————————--

Crystal Palace were a really good side, and I suppose they still are. Warnock had a lot going for him there (even if we did all hate him) and he had a great squad. However, it came to a premature end. Administration over took matters, and money began to tear holes in the squad. Moses left, and not long after him went Warnock himself.

Meanwhile, we have finally achieved stability, and a comfortably boring end to the season (probably). Sure, we let Newcastle score 6, but a whole list of excuses can be produced. It was a one off against the best this league has to offer, and Palace aren’t such a high class side. Especially not now.

Paul Hart. What a joke. I mean, I can’t take the man seriously. When that administrator went for the cheap option he really went for it. Before this article gets serious, lets watch how a selection of football critics reacted to the news of Paul Hart receiving yet a another job;

Right, back to serious business. Palace fans are a great lot who deserve a lot more than they have been offered. But what will they get tomorrow? The Eagles sit dismally 3rd bottom of the form table, but it’s not all good for us. They also sit 5th of the away form table.

I also fear the Hart factor. Could his return to one of his many sites of failure give a bounce back effect, or will the good players Palace still have overcome his failures as a manager. Good players such as 17 goal Darren Ambrose, surely a threat?

Barnsley Palace

But, as I always say, we can beat anyone if we play right. Actually, I’m no longer sure we could beat Newcastle, but anyhow, I think how we play is more important than how Palace do.

Certainly, no Luke Steele is a blow. Our first choice defence held Blackpool and Cardiff back recently, and the Steele-man helped them greatly. he is replaced by David Preece. So far Preece has conceded 11 goals in 1.5 games this season, but that doesn’t mean I have no faith. As much as anything the problem is his command of the defence, surely less of an issue at home?

For one game, he’ll do I suppose. Apart from him we have a first team to play. Following the results of your votes on Monday, the team should be back at a 4-4-2 featuring,

——————Steele——--

Hassell—-Foster—Shotton—Dicko

Hammill—Colace—-Doyle—Teixeira

———-Macken—Bogdanovic—-

Hopefully the back four hasn’t taken too much of a confidence drop after last week, while I’m certain none of those midfielders have.

Up front, I suggest reverting to the strike forcethat played against Cardiff and Blackpool, with Hume as a super sub.

——————-

Prediction; I’m going 2-0 Barnsley, becasue I have all faith in Paul Hart to help us out.

But remember to give your prediction of the scoreline tomorrow to enter the Prediction League and win $50 of football goods and eternal proof of your superior knowledge. Comment here with your scoreline, or (better0 on this post.
